If you can procure reliable racks and shelves for your warehouse and you can arrange them perfectly in that warehouse, you can make sure that every portion of your warehouse space can be efficiently used and there will be no wasted space in your warehouse. This is certainly important if the warehouse space in which you store your items is a rented warehouse. With proper arrangement of racks and shelves, you can spend less to procure sufficient amount of warehouse space to store your items.

As mentioned above, the racks and shelves that you buy have to be reliable. The reliability of the racks and shelves that you buy is determined by their strength and durability. Therefore, make sure that the racking that you buy is made from such strong and durable materials as steel. You should avoid racks that are made from aluminum or fiberglass as those racks are not considered capable enough to accommodate the storage of a large number of heavy items. Choosing racks made from steel, especially the14 gauge one, is important especially if you want to use the racks and shelves for heavy-duty storage.

In addition to being reliable, the racks and shelves that you buy also have to be efficient in using your warehouse space. Therefore, you should choose rack decking whose size is economical yet reliable enough to afford heavy load. Rack decking with 8” x 5” footplate is often considered the most efficient decking to be used to afford the storage of items whose weight can reach as much as 20,000 lbs.
